Fox, goose and corn

There was a farmer who owned a goose, a fox, and a bag of corn. He had to carry the goose, the fox, and the bag of corn to an island, but his rowboat was so tiny that he could fit only himself and one other item or animal in it. How was he able to transfer the goose, the fox, and the bag of corn from the farm to the island without leaving the fox and the goose together (if he did that, the fox would surely eat the goose) or the goose alone with the bag of corn (if he did that the goose would surely eat the corn)?
